Background

AWeber started its operation in 1998. AWeber made itself known after its founder Tom Kulzer introduced its first autoresponder feature. After enhancing and implementing new and exciting features, many programs have since then followed AWeber, and it eventually became the standard blueprint for newcomer programs.

AWeber initially catered to those who wish to initiate their businesses online but has now evolved to also proving to be useful for content creators, bloggers, and podcasters.

The main benefit to using AWeber is because of its superior email marketing automation, the great customer service, and its integration capabilities.

  • Superior email marketing automation
      • Known for releasing the first autoresponder service onto the web, it’s excellent email marketing tactics has put AWeber on high ground, becoming widely known for its automation features, compelling and effective email templates, and its deliverability rate.
      • Specializing in Autoresponding, AWeber can categorize users into different sorts of actions and triggers based on a situation and that the automation sees best as the solution. Users can maintain and regulate a specific workflow process. They maintain an AWeber Blog, where they post informative information through articles written by business professionals and entrepreneurship specialists and also administer live webinar sessions, giving out tips and tricks on how to manage businesses efficiently whether they be online or offline.
  • Advanced integration
    • Although AWeber does not categorize itself as an all-in-one program and wishes to focus its expertise in email marketing, they allow their users to integrate their current data and records from their pre-existing accounts from external programs.

AWeber also offers its users a definite form of archive that consists of essential data that can be used by users as an insight or as future references if they wish to claim the feedback that they receive from their contacts. The AWeber system is automatically equipped with a basic form of a user interface allowing its users to experience a smooth process.

Pricing Plan

AWeber’s method of payment and basis of payment is pretty unique. The way AWeber’s pricing works is that it values your estimated price point based on the visitors that you can accumulate within a month.

The following are Pro plan prices based on the subscriber limit:

  • $19.99 per month – all features available but subscribers are limited to 500
  • $29.99 per month – all features available with a subscriber count of 501 to 2,500
  • $49.99 per month – all features available with a subscriber count of 2,501 to 5,000
  • $69.99 per month – all features available with a subscriber count of 5,001 to 10,000
  • $149.99 per month – all features available with a subscriber count of 10,001 to 25, 000
  • By quote – if the amount of successful subscriber exceeds 25,501

*Prices are even cheaper if you pay on an annual basis. Example: 0-500 subscribers is only $16.15 if billed annually versus $19.99 if billed monthly.

There is also a FREE Plan, which is limited to 500 subscribers, 3,000 emails sends per month, and only 1 List Profile. There are a lot of features included in the free plan EXCEPT the following:  A/B split testing on emails and lists, behavioural automation, cart abandonment/purchase tagging, branded click-tracking links, the ability to remove AWeber branding on emails and landing pages, advanced message analytics, advanced audience/account analytics, webpage and email sales tracking, email, the ability to save and send to custom segments, and web push notifications are limited to 50,000 WPN subscribers for collecting subscribers and sending messages. For ecommerce, transaction fees are also higher at 1% versus 0.6% when you’re subscribed to a Pro plan.

In our opinion here, AWeber’s prices are pretty good considering all the features that you will have access to.

Alternatives to AWeber

AWeber is a good investment, in our opinion, but if you’re not done yet with your research on which email marketing tool to invest on, see how it compares with other leading email marketing tools:

GetResponse

  •   GetResponse is a competent rival of AWeber when it comes to email marketing but it is also known to be an all-in-one business marketing platform. One of the defining features of GetResponse is its built-in features such as

o   Email Marketing

o   Store App Integration

o   Live Webinars

Compared to Aweber, GetResponse has a much cheaper price range alongside its inclusive range of tools that usually starts with its most basic plan. The Email plan begins with a price of $15 per month, ideal for newcomers and beginners in the online marketing field. It’s next features a Pro Plan that starts with a $49 a month payment where it will include a webinar marketing, an advanced range of tools, and an increase in the numbers of subscribers for users to contact.

MailChimp

  •   Also, one of the known leading programs when it comes to online marketing is Mailchimp, most probably known for its good range of features and impressive marketing tactics that includes social media ads. The only downfall is it’s pretty pricey and is mostly recommended for users who has a stable and huge amount of income per month

MailChimp’s pricing is just like AWeber’s. It is dependent on the expected amount of subscribers you will successfully convert. The pricing begins with a $10 per month that would only include a small amount of subscribers and a limited amount of tools.

The next price point would be the Pro plan which would cost at least $199 a month. This price plan would include advanced segmentation options, analytics as well as premium support will be granted.

Omnisend

  •   Omnisend allows its users to not only manage their business’ their email marketing performance but also allow their potential users the ability to openly process online transactions with their built-in eCommerce concept to function alongside other range of features. Known for its unique Omni Channeling method of Email Interaction, users can beautifully compose their messages and also successfully segment these letters based on their categories and subscriber list, and schedule of release.

The following features are some of the key features of Omnisend:

  •       Visual Email Builder
  •       Receptive and Insightful Segmentation
  •       Omnichannel Marketing Automation Tool
  •       Email Capturing

Omnisend’s Pricing starts with its Free Plan that mostly includes the most basic of all features available and allows the user to send 15,000 emails per month. The next plan would be the Standard Plan that accustoms the users with the program’s distinct form of automation. This specific feature starts at $16 per month as a payment basis, but users will be able to add-on modules for when they edit their pages and emails.
